🚀 Getting started

Create your NaijaPlanet account in less than a minute and start exploring your Planet.

Sign up in 3 steps

Tap Join free on the home page.
Enter your name, choose a unique @username, add your email and a strong password.
Confirm your email if we send you a link, then sign in and land on your feed.

Tip: Your @username is how people find and mention you. Choose something you can live with — you can change it later but friends may already know you by your original username.

Install NaijaPlanet as an app

NaijaPlanet is a Progressive Web App. That means you can install it directly from your browser — no Play Store needed.

On Android (Chrome): tap the three-dot menu and choose Install app.
On iPhone (Safari): tap the share icon and choose Add to Home Screen.

👤 Your profile

Your profile is how the Planet sees you. Make it count.

Add a profile photo and cover image that represent you.
Write a short bio — who you are, what you’re about.
Add your state and city so people around you can find you.
Pick your interests so your feed is instantly relevant.

📋 Feed & posting

Share what’s on your mind, from a quick gist to a full photo carousel.

Create a post

Tap the Create button on your feed.
Choose a post type: text, photos, video, poll or link.
Add text, media, tags, location and choose who can see it.
Tap Post — and you’re on the Planet.

Post visibility

Public — anyone can see it.
Followers — only people who follow you.
Friends — only mutual friends.
Only me — private.

Show love, drop fire, laugh, wow, or just say what’s on your mind.

Tap and hold the reaction button to pick a reaction: like, love, fire, laugh, wow, sad or angry.
Comment or reply to keep the conversation going.
Share posts to your own feed with a comment.

Show up in the moment. Stories disappear in 24 hours. Videos can blow up on Planet Video.

Post photo, video or text Stories that expire after 24 hours.
See who viewed your story.
Post short vertical videos to Planet Video for wider discovery.

Talk to your people right inside NaijaPlanet with Planet Chat.

Start a one-to-one chat from anyone’s profile.
Create group chats with your team, family or crew.
Send images, videos, voice notes and reactions.
Turn on notifications so you never miss a message.

👥 Groups

Build communities around anything — football, music, campus, tech, faith, business.

Tap Groups and choose Create group.
Give it a name, description, cover image and category.
Choose public or private, and set who can post.
Invite people, add moderators and get talking.

🏢 Pages

Pages are for brands, businesses, creators, organizations and public figures.

Set logo, cover, description, contact info and category.
Post updates that reach both followers and non-followers.
Upload photos to your page so customers can see your work.
Add WhatsApp contact for one-tap enquiries.

🛒 Planet Market

Buy and sell to real Nigerians — safer than random WhatsApp groups.

How to list an item

Tap Market, then New listing.
Add clear photos, title, category, price and description.
Add your state and city so nearby buyers see it first.
Publish. Buyers can contact you via chat or WhatsApp.

Stay safe: meet buyers/sellers in public places. Inspect goods before paying. Never pay for something you haven’t verified. Report suspicious listings.

💼 Jobs

Post jobs, find work, hire talent, land gigs — across all 36 states.

Employers: create a job with title, description, salary range and how to apply.
Job seekers: search, filter by state, save jobs and apply in a few taps.
Follow companies to see their new roles first.

📅 Events

Weddings, church programmes, meetups, launches, concerts — organize and discover events.

Create events with cover image, date, time, location and description.
RSVP as going, interested or not going.
Comment inside the event and share to your feed.

🔒 Privacy & safety

You are in control of what you share, who can reach you, and what you see.

Set who can see your posts, story, profile and message you.
Block anyone who bothers you — they can’t see or contact you.
Report posts, comments, pages, listings or profiles that break the rules.
We do not sell your data. You can delete your account any time.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is NaijaPlanet free?

Yes. Creating an account, posting, messaging and joining communities is free forever. Some optional business features (like featured listings) may be paid in the future.

Do I need to download from the Play Store?

No. NaijaPlanet is a Progressive Web App. You can install it directly from your browser and it will work like a native app on your home screen.

How do I change my username?

Go to your profile, tap Edit profile, and update your username. Usernames must be unique and can only contain lowercase letters, numbers and underscores.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your data. This action cannot be undone.

Someone is harassing me. What do I do?

Tap the three-dot menu on their profile or messages and choose Block. You can also Report them so our moderators review the case.

How does the marketplace protect me from scams?

Users can flag suspicious listings. Our moderators review reports. However, we always advise: meet in public places, inspect goods before paying, and prefer verified sellers.

Can businesses advertise on NaijaPlanet?

Yes. Our advertising platform is being rolled out in phases. Businesses will be able to run promoted posts, sponsored listings and featured events.

NaijaPlanet is for everyone. To keep it that way, everyone plays a part.

Be respectful. No hate speech, harassment, threats or discrimination.
Be truthful. No impersonation, scams, fake news or misinformation.
Be safe. No violence, illegal activity, or dangerous content.
Be decent. No adult, sexual or explicit content on public feeds.
Respect ownership. Don’t post content that isn’t yours without permission.

Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions or permanent removal from NaijaPlanet.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use NaijaPlanet. You’re responsible for your account and the content you post. Keep your password safe.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you give us permission to display, distribute and store your content solely to operate NaijaPlanet.

3. Prohibited use

You may not use NaijaPlanet for anything illegal, harmful, deceptive or that violates our Community Guidelines.

4. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. You may delete your account at any time.

5. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll notify you of important changes. Continued use after updates means you accept the new terms.
